I warned ya...

Spring is gonna get here, eventually! All this nice weather has just been a tease, we still have a few cold Morn's a waiting for us yet. But damn, it has been nice to walk Elliot without hearing my own testicles rattling around as they shivered from the cold. Elliot and I have been doing a lot of walking with the nice weather, and that has played in nicely with my new Physical Therapy regiment. I get "The Rack" twice a week and go from 6'0" to 6'1" on Tuesdays and Thursdays, and combined with twice daily Elliot walks, I am starting to actually feel human again. I've got a hearing exam/eval on the 23rd, so maybe they'll be able to pull the nest of Cicada's out of my ears that have been driving me insane with their constant chirping. Slowly but surely I am getting all of my little medical issues lined up so I can whip their little asses and get on with the task of enjoying life.

We finally got my Mother somewhat situated in a nursing home. They offered her an apartment there, but yanked it out from underneath her the day she was supposed to move out of the rehab and into the apt. She is now in the actual "Nursing Home" part of the complex, which is where she didn't want to be, but she has a nice roommate and is having her immediate needs met. I will say that overall I am quite disappointed in the competence and lack of professionalism in the admin of this facility. But then I didn't pick it either.

I was going to post a long overdue update, but I am experiencing a slight iPad difficulty at the moment and I keep loosing my text off my screen. I'll see how much more I can do before I want to scream and yell...

We had some car woes last week, but a wrecker and $700.00 later and Libby is back on the road again. And again, my confidence and pride of driving an American made car has sunk to a new all-time low. But I'd STILL rather drive an AMERICAN POS than an imported car. No, I'm not gonna drag out my "Buy American" soapbox, I just wish more people would really look at where the bulk of the money goes when they buy a new imported car. Yeah, it may be built in Vance, or Lincoln, but the bulk of that money goes all the way back to Japan, Germany, wherever and with every dollar we dump into their economy, their's gets better and ours takes another plunge down the crapper. And the sad thing is I think it's too late to do anything about it. They have us by the balls and the squeeze is coming soon. They'll either choke us out with fuel/oil/gas, or they'll choke us out on food, or water, but trust me, they got their arm around America's neck and it's just a matter of time before we pass out. And when we wake up, it'll be a whole new ballgame folks, and and we'll no longer be the home team.

It's funny to me how talking about my car breaking down leads me off on a tangent like this, but I guess it's because it really never leaves my mind. And I have refrained talking survivalism here, there are much better places to do that than here, but things STILL are not getting any better and EVERYBODY keeps sticking it to us. Gas is back over $3.00 a gallon, food prices are at an all time high, EVERY system out there looks at us as their "income stream" and tries to figure out how to suck more money out of us with every encounter. Did ya know, if you get caught driving without Insurance now, they put you on PROBATION for 12 months and you have to pay to go see your Probation Officer EVERY MONTH? Yet another way they figured out how to suck more money out of you. My all time favorite was the Nutsack that wanted to charge folks that were on private septic tanks in JeffCo a "Non-User" fee for the County NOT having to lift a finger, spend a penny on your behalf. There's so many things wrong with where we are today and what the various systems are willing to do to us if we don't continue to feed the beast that it makes it hard to sleep at night. Once one of these systems sinks it's teath in you, you'll spend the rest of your life trying to shake it off your back. With this County and that Municipality getting deeper and deeper into financial crisis, they have started preying on their very own citizenry to keep their own paychecks coming. If you don't believe me, just count the number of cops you pass on your next outing just sitting, waiting, like Leopards in the tall grass watching the prey wander by on our way to this or that watering hole. We are being culled, one by one, not based on who broke a law or committed a crime but rather by who is the least likely to be able to defend themselves. And it's wrong, period. Once you fall victim to one of these systems, it's not about justice, not about balance, IT'S ALL ABOUT THE MONEY. And these systems are designed to keep you entrapped within and paying their ransom forever. And I know I'm ranting like a madman, but until you feel the teeth go into your ass, you don't have clue. Ask anyone who has ever had a DUI how much it cost them to go through the system? And no, I'm not advocating drinking and driving, by any means. And no, I don't drink, don't do drugs nor have I ever been arrested, but I have watched systems destroy many a person/family simply for the money.
